Snake Preservation And Awareness

Get out there and count some snakes! The count is still going on for a few more days. We will be posting our results soon, (which have already been reported). In the meantime check out these photos and videos of two Northern water snakes (Nerodia sipedon) fighting over a fish.

Even if you only find a single garter snake dead on the road you can submit the information and it will be put on a comprehensive database used by herpetologists all over the globe.

We only ask that you please be respectful on the scaly denizens you find. There is no need to keep any snakes and try not to relocate them unless they are in a human dwelling or in the middle of the road.
